I have been having a wee play around with my blog and have added a couple of items into the side bar and at the bottom of my blog, just for fun. The widget of my blog in the side bar was created here and can be uploaded to your own site if you want. The game at the bottom is just a toy, I can find these things quite addictive at times. I want your feedback here. Are these things just over the top and too much? Do one or both of them detract from my blog? What do you think? If there is a consensus that I should remove them then that is what I will do.
Otherwise have fun with the game but don't get too carried away, remember the pots on the stove.

please don't move the game!!!! I need it. sleep and family are over rated! And it keeps me quiet.

OK, I'll leave it for a wee while.
what is your widget again?
Rae
Hi Rae, your question got me started making a screencast (see the next post). I have'nt done one for ages and it took me a long time to do this one. I need to get more practice doing this and develop my skills with screencasts a bit more I think. Using screencasts could be a good way to help distance students problem solve some things I think.
blimee. you're a stunner!
Rae
Thanks, glad you think so!
Hi Carolyn I am addicted to your game having never played a computer game in my life before
the kids think its highly amusing !!!!
who needs a PhD anyway
I am glad you like it. I have to say it is a huge time waster. I keep thinking I should take it off my blog but perhaps I shouldn't if people like it. I would hate to be responsible for non completion of PhD however. I tend to start a game just before bed time then find it hard to stop and actually go to bed.
What is your top score?
Dear Carolyn,
Please don't move the game. With all the ridiculous pressure we American midwives are feeling, what with ACOG and the AMA's joint resolution to rid the States of homebirth, "Get Widget" is a real sanity-saver! Love your blog, and the game as well! : )
I am so pleased I can be of some help and support to my midwifery colleagues in the US even if it is only to provide some light relief. Don't be disheartened and stay strong over there. It seems to me that what you are experiencing is similar to midwifery here in the early 80s. The powerful medical lobby here wanted to see midwifery subsumed and homebirth banned, but women would not stand quietly by while this happened. So started the ground movement which eventually saw midwifery autonomy and woman centered care as a reality of practice in New Zealand. You need the women with you, beside you, speaking with one voice.
