practicing with creating and embedding videos

I have spent the whole day trying to get this happening. I very nearly felt like throwing the whole thing away however I have finally managed to do it. WOOOHOOO! I know the video itself is not stunning but it has been a huge effort. I have one or two other topics that I would like to do similar videos for.

Great job Carolyn!! Its a good video. Nice and short, covers the key points, and has successfully inspired me to start up an iGoogle account :) I dunno why I have avoided doing it for so long. Have you tried PageFlakes? Search that out. It is very much like iGoogle, but you can set it to be public which might make it a good tool for compiling midwified resources hey!!

About the video.. have you checked out my How I do a screencast video?

Wow, Carolyn, you have raised the bar now!! Not sure what I can do to get ahead now!! Ummmmm....going to have to spend the day thinking about it! You've done brilliant job-can't say how impressed I am! My only comment is: be careful about now waving the curser about too much. I'll have to get you to tell me how to use the video program. Don't forget to tell the girls about this.

Thanks Leigh for your comment and for the tab for igoogle. It was your screencast video that got me going with this wee project in the first instance, so thanks also for that. I have not yet got to the point of trying to use the screen hunter feature, need to catch my breath after this effort first. I am getting some complaints from my dearly beloved that I am spending too much time attached to my computer.

Thanks also to you Sarah. I think this is a tool that we might find useful with students or with midwives who are wondering how to use online resources.

Hi Carolyn, yesterday I tried twice to post a comment here for you but each time it lost the connection somehow. Wanted to say that the video is very cool and well worth all your effort. Congratulations. I really like igoogle because it means you can access everything from one place, which provides a significantly more organised approach. And anything that helps us or the students with that will be useful.

Thanks Veronique. I think using Camstudio to make this sort of recording might be a really useful tool also, to help students at a distance, if they are having a problem with something, or to illustrate something which might be quite complex to do in another way. I now have the program working OK and I should be able to do this much more easily next time; I hope!
