I have stolen this from Helen Lindsay's blog. I saw it there and just thought it was so good I had to put it in mine too. Hope you don't mind Helen. It is from a slide share by Tony Whittingham. Tony has lots of other good things in this Wikispace. Well worth a look.
Thanks for that, Carolyn - it all looks really good. But, I would think it needs a considerable amount of thought and planning before you go live. I would also think evaluation was very important. That is something I have missed so far over the last weeks. This technology is all well and good, but what do students think of it and how successful has it been in meeting outcomes?
I totally agree. I am full of enthusiasm and enjoying learning about these things, however I have just helped a technophobic friend to register with trademe, just a reminder to me that people are at varying stages of computer literacy. I was pretty pleased that I managed to talk him through this process. There is also the issue of speed of internet connection. I have a good fast connection but I can still get a bit frustrated when things are running slowly, if I had a dial up connection I think I would have given up by now. This slideshare does give some really good maps of how online learning resources could work though.
Welcome to this discussion about midwifery and midwifery education. Please feel free to leave a comment and contribute or just to peruse the contents of this blog. I took the photo at the top at Mossburn recently. I photographed the scene through my sunglass lens, hence the sepia effect. I hope you enjoy checking out the contents of my blog. Come back soon as I am always changing and updating.
