welcome nuchal head - you are cool! Why was the midwife so hands on with the birth? i found that really hard to watch. If the midwife is out there anywhere - can you share with us why you were handling the baby so much? I was worried about the baby being stimulated to gasp.
Yes I agree that there seemed to be a lot of fiddling happening. I am guessing she was trying to slip the cord over the head. It is hard to tell on a we video clip like this as time seems to be much longer when looking at a clip like this that it is in reality I think.
Hi anonymous, you could be right I don't know. Hard to know when you are not there. I do think I would have felt uncomfortable at this birth and I felt the second helper seemed to, her hands appear a few times. I am also a wee bit concerned that the baby seems to come to the surface and is then put under again to get the cord unwound. This should not happen in a water birth, once the baby comes to the surface the face should not go under the surface again.

I took the photo at the top at Mossburn recently. I photographed the scene through my sunglass lens, hence the sepia effect. I hope you enjoy checking out the contents of my blog. I think cord probably didn't need to be "slipped" over head - and if it did need to ask woman to get out of the water.

Non the less it is a lovely birth and I do love the voice over by Mum and Dad, a shame that there are these unanswered questions here.
